Guaynabo City Waterfront
The City of Guaynabo, near San Juan, Puerto Rico. is in the process of developing its under-utilized port area as a multi-use development that will include a bayside boardwalk, hotel, commercial areas, restaurants and pubs, a housing development and direct ferry access to Old San Juan.
I was tasked with implementing an identity for this area, known as the Guaynabo City Waterfront, starting with a logo that is inviting, upbeat and describes the spirit of this ambitious development.
The design of the logo is based on sun and surf. It is a radiating star with edges to suggest the water surface and blue and aqua colors to reflect the maritime heart of the sector. As an identity, it is to be implemented throughout the sector in signage, banners and posters. It will also be used in promotional materials and souvenirs.
